Hills and Valleys around Combe Hay. 3 hrs. 6 miles. Moderate.

Starting 10.00 am at Cross Keys pub. Southstoke Road, Combe Down, Bath, BA2 5RZ.

A New Year’s Day walk to Upper Midford, Combe Hay and part of the disused Somerset Coal Canal.
Coffee stop only. Not suitable for pushchairs.

Free of charge with an opportunity to donate to the Wardens’ Countryside Fund.

1 Jan – St Bart’s

By popular demand (well, two people have asked!) there will again be a New Year’s walk. So please put Monday, 1st January into your 2018 diary when we will meet at 10:00 hrs at the Hare and Hounds Pub, Corsham, for a walk of about 10.5 miles.

Pete is also going to circulate this to the Wanderers, so we could once again have a merry crowd stepping in to the New Year.

14 Dec – St Bart’s

Our next walk is about 5 miles on Thursday 14th December, meeting at 10:00 hrs
at The Bell Inn, The Wharf, Bowden Hill, Lacock, SN15 2PJ.
Permission kindly given for parking, please use rear car park.

Our Executive Head of Sustenance, Nutrition and Catering Management Systems, Charles Todd Esq., reports that the optional lunch is now fully booked. Look forward to seeing everyone, whether or not you are lunching.

10 Dec – Corsham Wanderers

The next walk is on Sunday, 10th December starting at 10 am from
the Quarrymans Arms, Box Hill, Box SN13 8HN.

The 5 mile ramble precedes the Christmas lunch.
It would be much appreciated if those of you who haven’t booked for the Xmas lunch do not park in the Quarrymans Arms car park – many thanks.

The St.Bart’s Walking Group are organising a post-Christmas calorie cruncher on New Year’s Day Monday 1st January 2018.
The walk of about 10.5 miles will start from the Hare & Hounds P.H. Corsham at 10 am.

December’s Tuesday Tramp:

Starts 10:00 am at the Fox & Hounds pub, Colerne, SN14 8DB
ST 818 711.
Parking is at the pub or adjacent Constitutional Club.

The 5 mile moderate, and often hilly, walk takes approx 3 hours around the various footpaths of Colerne Parish.
Lunch is available at the Fox and Hounds. Bring a mid morning snack.
Not suitable for pushchairs. The walk may be steep and muddy in places.

At the walk finish there will be opportunity to donate to the Cotswold Countryside Fund, enabling the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens to maintain stiles, paths and dry stone walls.

21 Nov – Box Walk

Box Parish Monthly Walk

Starts 10:00 am from the free car park near Selwyn Hall, Valens Terrace, Box, SN13 8NT.

The walk is approximately 5 miles and takes about 3 hours around the various footpaths of Box Parish. There may be hills and stiles.

Bring a mid morning snack. Lunch is available after the walk at the Bengal Bear.
Not suitable for pushchairs.

19 Nov – Corsham Wanderers

November monthly walk with Corsham Wanderers

This 11 mile ramble starts outside the Angel Hotel, High Street, Sherston, SN16 0LH, at 10 am.
OS Grid ref ST852858.

There is free on street parking nearby on the High Street and Church Street.

The walk will include Westonbirt Arboretum’s Silk Wood and the attractive villages of Sherston and Easton Grey.
Please bring a picnic lunch. Optional post walk refreshments at the Angel Hotel.

Corsham walkers can meet in the Co-op car park, Newlands Road at 9.15 am to car share.
Can walkers needing a lift please first check return arrangements with the driver.

10 Nov – St Bart’s Walk

On Friday 10 November, our monthly walk of about 10 miles starts at 10 am at the Hare and Hounds pub, Pickwick, Corsham, SN13 0HY. The Hare and Hounds have kindly given permission to use their car park – please park at the far end.

Suggest bring a picnic/packed lunch.

NB: If anyone prefers a shorter walk, the distance can be reduced to about 5 miles by bringing your bus pass or bus fare.

The ramble is 10 miles and crosses Charmy Down airfield.
