This exciting new 2 hour walk departs at 11 am on Sunday 10 June from Springfield Community Campus and will explore sustainable practices in Corsham, including solar installations, community orchards, wildflower gardens, and growing food. Peter Harper, a leading environmentalist from University of Bath will look at biodiversity in hedgerows and green spaces. Children are welcome with an accompanying adult – but be quick as only 4 places left…

Transcoco aims to develop local solutions to local sustainability issues, helping to address climate change and other global environmental challenges. We aim to make the Corsham area a more positive and rewarding place and help create a more sustainable future for everyone.

Charmy Down Festival Walk – Book Now!

If you are free on Sunday 10 June, why not come on our ‘Charmy Down and Splendours of St Catherines Walk’.

This 11 miles walk winds through some wonderful undulating countryside to sleepy St Catherine’s Valley. The walk takes 5 hours and starts in the village of Marshfield.

Festival Walks


The Golden Boots are being burnished ready for their big night as trophy for the winning team along with some excellent prizes donated by local businesses.

This popular event gives walkers and friends a chance to socialize and have fun during the festival. Our excellent Quiz Master refuses to leak any clues about this year’s questions, but they are always a good mixture with something for everyone – so come and have some fun!

There will be a licensed cash bar and a delicious hot and cold buffet. Please let us know of special dietary requirements when booking.

26 May – By Brook & Monk’s Wood Walk

Saturday 26th May – a guided walk led by the Cotswold Volunteer Wardens.

Start: 10:00 am at Selwyn Hall Car Park, Box – off the A4.

‘Either side of the By-Brook’

Difficulty: MODERATE Duration: 5.5 HOURS Distance: 9 MILES

We follow the By-Brook upstream to Widdenham Farm before climbing to Euridge Manor and entering Monks Wood to see Spring wild flowers. The return does mean a climb to Rudloe Manor for valley views. Please bring a Picnic Lunch. Not suitable for pushchairs but families welcome.

Box Monthly Walk

Starts 10:00 am from the free car park near Selwyn Hall, Valens Terrace, Box, SN13 8NT.

The walk is approximately 5 miles and takes about 3 hours around the various footpaths of Box Parish. There may be hills and stiles.

Bring a mid morning snack.
Not suitable for pushchairs.

6 May – Wanderers’ Bluebell Walk

The ‘Bluebell Walk’ is this Sunday 6th May and starts at 10 am from the Who’d A Thought It pub at Lockeridge, near Marlborough SN8 4EL.
There is plenty of on-street parking nearby.

The ramble of about 9 miles passes through West Woods and onward to Pewsey Downs via the White Horse Trail.
Please bring a picnic lunch.
Optional post-walk refreshments in the pub.

Corsham walkers can meet in the Co-op car park, Newlands Road at 9 am to car share. Can walkers needing a lift please first check with their driver the return arrangements – many thanks.

11 May – St Bart’s

St Bartholomew’s Walking Group

Our next walk is about 7.5 miles on Friday 11th May, meeting 10:00 hrs at the Harp and Crown P.H. Gastard, Nr. Corsham, SN13 9PU.

Permission kindly given for car parking, but please car share and double park if necessary. Suggest bringing snack/picnic.

Advance notice that there will not be a St Bart’s walk in June due to the Corsham Walking Festival.

1 May – Tuesday Tramp

Starts 10:00 am at the Fox & Hounds pub, Colerne, SN14 8DB. Grid ref: ST 818 711.
Parking is at the pub or adjacent Constitutional Club.

This approx 5 mile moderate, often hilly walk takes about 3 hours around the various footpaths of Colerne Parish.

Lunch is available at the Fox and Hounds. Bring a mid morning snack.
Not suitable for pushchairs. The walk may be steep and muddy in places, and may include stiles.
Walkers are responsible for their own safety.

At the walk finish there will be an opportunity to donate to the Cotswold Countryside Fund, enabling the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens to maintain stiles, paths, dry stone walls and so forth.
