Welcome to the 7th Corsham Walking Festival

Corsham is a medieval market town that lies on the fringe of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Come and see the North West Wiltshire hills, valleys and fields when they are at their best. Choose from eighteen guided walks plus a varied free programme.

Join in the fun whatever your walking ability. You will receive a warm welcome in our Walkers Are Welcome accredited town.

Places are limited – walks fill fast, so advanced booking is strongly advised.

 

Booking Arrangements

Booking opens on Tuesday 6th April 2021. You can book:

  • Online at www.corshamwalkingfestival.org.uk. Confirmation of purchase will be provided during the booking process with an e-ticket.
  • Or by visiting The Pound Arts Centre, Pound Pill, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 9HX (Telephone no. 01249 701628). Box Office opening hours: Mon-Fri, 10.00-18.00; Sat 10.00-16.00. The Pound will cease tickets sales at 23.59 on the day before each walk and provide a list of walkers to the Festival Committee.

Ticket sales are non-refundable. Prices include a donation to Wiltshire Air Ambulance unless otherwise stated.

Please provide an emergency telephone number if you are not attending the walk with a friend, partner or relative. You must have permission to share this telephone number.

Terms and Conditions

You comply to the latest COVID-19 guidelines, refer to the Corsham Walking Festival website at www.corshamwalkingfestival.org.uk

The walk leaders are in charge of the walk. Their decision on participation is final. You need to choose a walk suitable for your ability. The walk leaders are experienced but have to take your word that you are sufficiently fit for your chosen grade of walk.

In the event of a cancellation or changes made by the Corsham Walking Festival to any walks due to COVID-19 regulations or other unforeseen circumstances, details of those changes will be made available on the website at www.corshamwalkingfestival.org.uk.

Dogs (other than assistance dogs) are regrettably not permitted on walks; except for SUN9. Please bring water for dogs.

A responsible adult must accompany vulnerable people and all under 18 year olds.

You are responsible for your own personal safety (or must be accompanied by an adult who is). Whilst we endeavour to make all our walks as safe and as enjoyable as possible, any event attended is done so at your own risk.

Due care has been exercised in organising the Walking Festival, however the Committee and sponsors accept no liability for loss, accident or injury caused to any person during the festival. You are advised to check your own personal accident cover before taking part.

Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn.

Bring food and drinks and packed lunches for longer walks.

Photos and videos will be taken throughout the festival weekend (with the exception of the Children’s Treasure Hunt) and may be used for publicity purposes.

Grading

Easy: Mostly level terrain; suitable for most walkers

Moderate: Some short steep gradients or rough terrain; some stiles

Challenging: Requires fitness and stamina; steep gradients, stiles

 

General Information

All activities will be risk assessed and also comply to the local COVID-19 Government regulations at the time of the Festival

Parking is FREE at the Springfield Community Campus, SN13 9DN

All walkers are to register at the start of the walk

All walks will start promptly

Walking distances and durations are approximate

All walks are suitable for adults and children as indicated (but see Terms and Conditions)

Please car share and use public transport when possible
