Local Litter Picking Groups

Corsham

Environmental group, Corsham Climate Action organises monthly ‘Clean Up Corsham’ litter picks, supported by Wiltshire Council, Corsham Town Council and the Co-op.

Litter picking team
  • When: On the 4th Saturday of the month
  • Meet: Springfield Campus by the entrance – 10.00 am
  • Bring: Gloves if possible (picking tools, bags, and hi-vis vests will be provided)
  • After: 12 noon – free coffee and cake in the Campus exhibition area.

Individuals – There are local litter heroes who regularly pick on their own or with others. Corsham Climate Action can lend you litter pickers, bags and hi-vis jackets for a few hours. Contact Jane Roberton for details – tel 07929 996729.

Groups – if you belong to a club or organisation and wish to organise a litter pick, please contact Ros Griffiths, Community Engagement Manager for Wiltshire Council on 01225 718626. She can help with equipment and arrange for collection of rubbish bags by the Council. Please give at least two weeks’ notice to schedule the pickup.

Rudloe

The Rudloe litter pickers (formerly known as the Rudloe Mob) are the old kids on the block. Having commenced picking in 1979, over the intervening years they have collected an astonishing 20,000 bags of rubbish!

  • When: On the 1st Sunday of the month
  • Meet: 10.00 at the junction of Leafy Lane and Boxfields Road, Rudloe
  • Bring: Gloves, (picking tools, bags, and hi-vis vests will be provided)

Box

The Box crew are also on the case, and the results are clear to see. The group initially formed to tackle the Great British Spring Clean 2018 and have kept going. To increase their numbers and really get Box village free of litter, do come along and join in the fun.
