17 Sept – Wanderers’ Walk

Heather is kindly organising the day on Sunday 17th September and wishes to know who will be staying for the post-walk lunch. Please contact Heather direct – heatherw1manor@hotmail.co.uk to book your lunch by 10th September. Early booking recommended since numbers are limited to 20.

Walk details :-
The ramble is approx 6 miles and starts from the village hall in Winsley BL15 2LU at 10am.
The scenic route passes by the manor house in the Iford valley. Plenty of on-street parking available near the hall. Optional post-walk lunch in The Seven Stars PH nearby. Please do not park in the pub’s car park – thank you.

Corsham walkers can meet in the Co-op car park, Newlands Road at 9.15 am to car share. Can walkers needing a lift please first check with their driver the return arrangements.

5 Oct – AGM

Corsham Walking Festival’s 2017 Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 5th October at 7:30 pm at the Methuen Arms, Corsham.

Everyone is very welcome to come along and hear about our work during 2017, our plans for Corsham Walking Festival 2018, the new Constitution and other projects such as The Corsham Cloverleaf.

Several long serving members of the Committee have stood down so we are seeking volunteers to join the Committee. The current status of nominations is as follows:

Starts 10:00 am at the Fox & Hounds pub, Colerne, SN14 8DB
ST 818 711. Map square B9.
Parking is at the pub or adjacent Constitutional Club.

The 5 mile moderate, and often hilly, walk takes approx 3 hours around the various footpaths of Colerne Parish.
Lunch is available at the Fox and Hounds. Bring a mid morning snack.
Not suitable for pushchairs.

At the walk finish there will be opportunity to donate to the Cotswold Countryside Fund, enabling the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens to maintain stiles, paths and dry stone walls.

20 August – Wanderers Walk

Start 10 am from Bruton, Higher Backway (free) car park, BA10 0DY.

The ramble is approx 10 miles with wonderful views of Glastonbury Tor, King Alfred’s Tower near Stourhead and the Bruton Dovecote.

Please bring a picnic lunch.

Corsham walkers may meet in the Co-op car park, Newlands Road at 8.45 am to car share. Can walkers needing a lift please check return arrangements with their driver, prior to departure.

15 Aug – Box Walk

Box Parish Monthly Walk

Starts 10:00 am from the free car park at Selwyn Hall, Valens Terrace, Box, SN13 8NT.

The walk is approximately 5 miles and takes about 3 hours around the various footpaths of Box Parish. There may be hills and stiles.

Bring a mid morning snack. Lunch is available after the walk at the Bengal Bear.
Not suitable for pushchairs.
