The 2025 Corsham Walking Festival AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th October, at the Corsham Club.
This meeting starts the ‘ball rolling’ for the 2026 Walking Festival so it would be great to see you there and if you can make it, please let me know via the Chair’s email address at the end of this message. Or just turn up on the night.

The meeting will start with a set of Quiz questions ‘loosely’ related to Walking/Maps. After the AGM we will have the answers revealed ......
Although there is formal business that needs to be covered at an Annual General Meeting, the main purpose of the meeting is to celebrate the success of this year’s event and how we take forward preparation for the 2026 event.
We are always looking to attract helpers to assist with the running of the Festival – whether by joining the Committee, leading one of the walks or joining a Shadow Group to help support with the myriads of tasks that contribute to its success.
We are aware that many people are reluctant to attend AGMs because they are worried, they may be “persuaded/ambushed” to join the Committee!
Hopefully we can set your mind at rest, as we are in the fortunate position that we have a ‘hardcore’ of a Committee but would love to see some new ‘faces’ either on the Committee or behind the scenes support.
That said, if you are interested in joining us for the following year (i.e., for the 2027 Festival) then there is an opportunity to “shadow” one of the existing Committee members to ease yourself into the role for 2027.
Similarly, we are always looking to expand the team of volunteers who are available to lead and back mark festival walks. This is not as onerous as it may seem as we are able to offer a mentoring scheme for anybody who is interested in developing their walking expertise.
