Walks don’t get much prettier than this opportunity to explore the many footpaths and bridleways in and around Castle Combe tracing the brooks that form the By Brook.
The walk starts in Castle Combe Upper car park (charges apply) at 09:30 on Sunday 14th June. After walking down into Castle Combe via Parsonage Wood, we turn and cross the Manor House Golf Course, then follow Broadmead Brook, thence to Nettleton, Goulters Mill on the Burton Brook then through The Gibb back to the car park.
The area is packed with history and points of interest; from the famous film setting in the Village centre to the Roman Settlement on the Fosse Way, Lugbury Longbarrow and a corn mill mentioned in the Domesday Book.
After the walk, there is the opportunity to stop for refreshments at The Salutation Inn.
A reminder that tickets need to be purchased in advance and sales for this walk close at 12:00 on Saturday 13th June.
