Are You Ready For Your Walk?

If you have already booked a place on one of the Corsham Walking Festival walks, you should receive a reminder email a day in advance. If you haven’t booked there is still time to do so! Walks need to be booked by 12:00 the day preceding the walk.

Ensure you arrive at the meeting point for your walk at the specified time. If you are unable to join the walk on time, please contact the Festival HQ on 07469 471469. Please note this number is only active over the Festival weekend.

Please car share or use public transport where possible. On Friday, the normal parking time restrictions have been relaxed for walks starting from The Springfield Community Campus; there are no time restrictions on Saturday or Sunday. For walks starting at other locations, please park considerately – if possible in the location given in the booking details. Note – at most locations where you are required to pay, the machines are cashless.

A reminder that you are responsible for your own personal safety (or must be accompanied by an adult who is). Whilst we endeavour to make all our walks as safe and as enjoyable as possible, any event attended is done so at your own risk. Due care has been exercised in organising the Walking Festival, however the Committee and sponsors accept no liability for loss, accident or injury caused to any person during the Festival. You are advised to check your own personal accident cover before taking part.

The walk leaders are in charge of the walk. Their decision on participation is final. The walk leaders are experienced but have to take your word that you are sufficiently fit for your chosen grade of walk.

Prior to the walk commencing, the walk leader will brief you on the route and any obstacles and hazards. If at this stage you have any concerns about your ability to complete the walk, please discuss it with the walk leader.

Dogs (other than assistance dogs) are regrettably not permitted on walks.

The weather forecast is looking promising for the weekend; however there is no such thing as the wrong weather – just the wrong choice of footwear and clothing. In previous years we have walked in torrential conditions – you have been warned!

Don’t forget food, drinks and packed lunches for longer walks

In the event of a cancellation or changes made by the Corsham Walking Festival to any walks due to unforeseen circumstances, details of those changes will be made available on this website and via our social media platforms.

Photos and videos will be taken throughout the festival weekend and may be used for publicity purposes. Please inform the walk leader on the day if you do not want to be included.

Enjoy the walk. Afterwards, please look out for and complete our survey – which will be able to access through a QR code on our website. We know many people are weary of surveys, but each year we do make a number of changes based on the feedback we receive from participants.
